Season’s Greetings everyone.. Happy Christmas and sending you lots of love & luck for 2023.

Sorry for the radio silence but as some of you will be aware – I work full time and since September I have been working towards my Silver Diploma with Jewellers Academy.

My jewellery journey started with a four-day taster course with a few one-day courses – the rest has been practice and teaching myself as I go along.

Lots of arts & crafts people suffer from something called ‘Imposter Syndrome’ I am no exception – so I took the decision to enrol on a 1-year Silver Diploma course.

To confirm what I know as well as learn new things..

Here is a photo of what term 1 practice looked like..

Even when I thought I knew most of these techniques – there are always new ways to achieve the same end look and that is the great thing about making jewellery.

I loved learning about ‘Cold Connections’ rivets & hinges.. both techniques that I have tried to teach myself – but the course showed me how to do these properly & success..

I am having a little break now until the new year now – term 2 starts at the beginning of Jan..

What a difference a week makes -

This is another reason I haven’t been working recently - this is my workshop/she shed… it has been freezing… All done for now so I can get back into making… in the New Year.

Next year I will try to do some in person fayres whilst studying & working – getting back into a more regular pattern after the summer.

As we are almost at years end – it is a time for reflection & for planning the year ahead.

My highlights of 2022 – here are just a few..

  • My Folks came to visit for the first time since covid.. which was quite emotional for me – they live in France to it was lovely spending time with them – even thought we all ended up with the dreaded covid..
  • I took part in the first Beckenham Arts Trail – I met some amazing artists & new customers.
  • Starting the Silver Diploma – it is important to keep learning.
  • Visited family in New York for the first time in too long..
  • The last highlight was the Christmas Fayre up at Beckenham Place Park Mansion – its so lovely to be with other makers and enjoy the festive vibes.

I have no dated in the diary yet for 2023 other than the diploma & the day job but hopefully I will take part in some more fayres & Art Trails next year as it is so important to see you guys along with new customers..

Making jewellery can be quite a solitary affair – part of the reason I love it… zen time. But you cannot beat a day with other artisans & getting feedback from shoppers it the best..

So that’s me for 2022… stay safe & have a very Merry Christmas & prosperous New Year.

Please let me know what you are looking for – I make what I love and am very fortunate that so many of you love too. But if there is anything you feel you would like to see I will do my best to incorporate it in the range.

So don’t be shy – get in touch…
